Faith & Recovery Network is a 501c3 tax exempt non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between faith-based or community organization and the mental health and addiction recovery sectors.
We recognize that mental health disorders are complex conditions that impact every aspect of a person’s life. Through evidence-based training, advocacy, and partnerships, we strive to create an interfaith society where compassion, education, and understanding empower all people to access the support and resources they deserve.

Our Team
Jordan C. Merrill (Executive Director)
Jordan brings years of experience in the nonprofit sector, driven by a passion for advocacy and social change. His dedication to supporting at-risk youth, individuals with substance use disorders, and those re-entering society or facing unemployment is evident through his impactful work. Jordan believes that with education, awareness, and equitable access to care and resources, we can build a society where every person has the opportunity to thrive. His leadership and commitment to empowering marginalized communities continue to guide our mission and vision for a more inclusive and supportive society; dedicated to whole person care.
Rev. Autumn Wiggins–Merrill (Director of Community Engagement)
Rev. Autumn is a dedicated faith leader with a passion for serving the mental health and recovery communities. As a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) specializing in family support services (FSS), she combines her spiritual leadership with a strong commitment to advocacy and support for families navigating recovery. Rev. Autumn believes that faith leaders and communities have a unique opportunity to move the needle toward equitable access to support for all people. She is a firm believer in the transformative power of awareness, education, and compassionate engagement to create lasting change.
Aya Eltahir (Treasurer)
Aya Eltahir is a social worker currently operating as supervisor in social work providing outpatient therapy as well as a group facilitator in a substance use facility, she is interested in integrating the knowledge and skill sets of her educational programs and professional experience to shape and sharpen her passion for resourcing underrepresented and marginalized communities. She is a firm believer in the power of relationships; and in cultivating those, you cultivate a community.
Cynthia Dawson (Board Member)
Cyndi brings over 30 plus years of experience in the mental health field. As a mental health professional she services persons with mental health disorder and substance use disorder. Her experience in the field for more than three decades has allowed her to be in proximity to advocacy efforts for the communities she serves and medical, and structural development in the mental health field. Her passion to provide awareness, whole person care, health equity and support is evident through her lengthy career in the field.
Gary Preston (Board Member)
Gary is a U.S. Army veteran and licensed practical nurse with a degree in Human Services from Old Dominion University, specializing in Addiction Prevention and Treatment. With a holistic approach that combines Medication-Assisted Treatment and therapy, he is dedicated to helping individuals confront addiction and achieve long-term recovery. His passion and expertise make him a valuable leader in advancing the mission of the Faith & Recovery Network.
Rev Joel Wiggins (Board Member)
Joel Wiggins Is a Licensed Minister in the United Methodist Church and a case worker with the Department of Juvenile Justice. He has made it his life’s work to reforming troubled youth and introducing the faith of God into their lives. Joel believes that our youth are the most important components in ensuring a successful future for our community and our world. His genuine desire to support marginalized and disenfranchised persons makes him an essential component of the Faith and Recovery Network.
